Krakow, Nowa Huta

Nowa Huta is situated in the most eastern part of Krakow. It was started in 1949 as a ideal city for the Socialist Poland. It was meant as a city for the workers at the newly built Steel works “Vladimir Lenin”. There is still a lot of the Sovjet, Stalinist feeling over the neighbourhood, which can not be said about the other parts of Krakow. Nowa Huta is still quite popular due to the many parks and green areas. We also went in to a restaurant there that was very much “Sovjet”… A very interesting place.
