I’ts been a long time since last, but now it’s time for a post again.
I became a member of Medelpad’s botanical association a while ago and has been on some excursions. On Sunday, July 24, it was time for a visit to the forests northwest of Ånge. Many knowledgeable people made the tour very interesting and enjoyable. With us we also had Lars Pettersson from Lund who is responsible for the Swedish butterfly monitoring.
First we went up the Harrån nature reserve, but we stayed outside the reserve itself. We found several interesting plants, although most of the orchids had bloomed. Among the butterflies there were bluewings and pearl butterflies.
Then we moved over to another area nearby, Jämtkrogen’s butterfly landscape. A lot of interesting things were seen here as well.
Among the species we saw were (as I don’t know all the english names I will list latin names) Pyrola chlorantha, Listera ovata, Gymnadenia conopsea, Pedicularis sceptrum-carolinum, Drosera rotundifolia, several speices of Zygaena, including Zygaena osterodensis.
