Last Saturday I went to Björbo to visit my mother. Started early to have some time for photography in the neighbourhood. First stop was Kärringforsen a rapid in the river Västerdalälven. A lot of water in the river but I could not find the right inspiration, so I moved on and headed out on a small road to the north. The first thing that strikes me are all the clear cuts, the forests declining fast. Instead there’s a mix of new clear cuts and old ones that looks like large stone desserts in the moraine terrain. Lucky there are a lot of marsh land also, the only land that’s relatively safe from the forest industry.
No snow and only some ice spots on the road. Quite special conditions, the ice on all lakes and terns along the road is like glass or mirrors. Made a stop at Handsktjärn to make a couple of pictures, moving on a couple of miles further north before it’s time to go back to Björbo and my mother.
A couple of pictures at Stora Gravtjärn>
